Clear about our role.
Careful with your information.
What to know when you browse this website, follow a resource link or contact PeopleLaw.

1. Information, not professional advice
PeopleLaw provides general legal information and resource navigation. The website does not offer legal advice, immigration advice, representation or application preparation. Its content is not a substitute for advice from an appropriately licensed professional who has reviewed your circumstances.
Using the site, calling or emailing us does not create a lawyer-client or consultant-client relationship. Do not assume communications with PeopleLaw are legally privileged. We do not accept responsibility for filing documents, preserving rights or monitoring deadlines.
2. Accuracy, scope and external resources
Our family-law information focuses on Ontario; immigration resources refer to Canadian federal information. Laws, programs, fees and eligibility rules change. Review the linked official sources and confirm details directly with providers. Content review dates indicate when we checked information, not a guarantee that it remains current.
External resources are provided for convenience. PeopleLaw is independent of linked organizations and does not control their services, decisions, availability or privacy practices. Listings do not imply affiliation. No outcome, eligibility decision or lowest price is guaranteed.
3. Information this website handles
This website has no accounts, intake form, payment function, advertising trackers or analytics scripts. It does not set cookies or use browser storage. Page assets, including illustrations, are served with the site rather than loaded from third-party image or font services.
The hosting provider may process technical request data, such as IP addresses, browser details and access times, to deliver and protect the website. Those records are separate from any information you choose to send by phone or email.
4. Contacting PeopleLaw
If you call or email, you choose what to share, such as your name, contact details and general question. Information you provide may be used to respond and direct you towards relevant resources. Email and telephone providers process communications under their own privacy practices.
Keep messages limited to what is needed for a general enquiry. Do not send identity documents, financial records, immigration identifiers, court files or other sensitive material. Email is not a secure upload service. Avoid sharing personal information about other people.
5. Handling your communications
Personal information you send should be used only for responding to your enquiry and related administrative purposes, or as required by law. It should not be included in a referral to another provider without your permission. PeopleLaw does not use this site to sell personal information or build advertising profiles.
Contact us to ask about the information in your communications, request a correction, or request deletion. Any request must be assessed against applicable legal requirements and the technical limits of communication-provider systems and backups. Do not email further sensitive material to verify your identity unless a suitable process has been agreed.
6. Links, security and your choices
Following a resource link takes you to a separately operated website with its own privacy policy. Telephone and email links open your device’s calling or email application. No online system or email channel can be guaranteed completely secure.
You can use the resource directory without contacting PeopleLaw or identifying yourself. If you have concerns about using ordinary email, call to discuss an appropriate next step.
7. Emergencies and deadlines
PeopleLaw is not an emergency service and does not guarantee a response time. Do not rely on contacting us to protect a legal deadline. Seek qualified professional help for urgent legal issues. If someone is in immediate danger in Canada, call 911.
8. Questions and accessibility
For privacy questions, corrections, broken resources or difficulty accessing the website, contact info@peoplelaw.ca or +1 647 449 4667. PeopleLaw is based in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
Some linked resources may be in another language. Ask the provider about language assistance.
